I would like to nominate Shawn Pollett’s “What Rough Beast.” It is a sequel to “Christianus Sum.” Both are excellent. “What Rough Beast” I couldn’t put down.
I would like to nominate Eric Wright’s
Captives of Minara
A Josh Radley suspense novel.
This is the second book in the series.
I had a hard time putting this book down.
Josh Radley who has had marital difficulties, and finacial toubles returns to Pakistan where he has a history. He looks forward to his wife and daughter arriving so he can show them the country he lived in as a child. He also wants to contiune to heal his marriage.
The book gives insight into life for women in Pakistan as well as life in a Muslim country that is struggling with terrorism as well as great poverty and greed. It shows the stress and strain Christians are subject to. I feel it shows alot of insight into human nature and how bad circumstances can be used by God. Josh who has a rocky relationship with God is put to the test to see if he will trust in God’s promises or continue to rely on his own abilities.
I hope that people will get a chance to read this book.
I was thrilled to have one of my books nominated for One Book/One Conference again this year. What a great idea OB/ OC is: librarians and authors working together to promote. Christian publishing in Ontario. Now if we could just get EVERY province to follow their example! Congratulations in advance to whomever wins when they make the announcement on Friday.
In His Grip,
Shawn J. Pollett

I received a copy of Bonnie Groves’ Talking to the Dead at the last fall conference, and it is wonderful. I couldn’t put it down.
